The Engines of PS "Waverley"

The seagoing paddle steamer "Waverley" features the largest, inclined marine steam engine on any operational side-wheeler in the world! This impressive bit of kit was built in the 1940s by Rankin & Blackmore in Greenock, Scotland. The three-cylinder engine is rated at 2100 horsepower and capable of turning over 57 rounds per minute.
