The Steamer "Gustav" in Potsdam

Potsdam features amazing chateaus and castle gardens right on the outskirts of Berlin, plus on top of that, beautiful waterways! Best of all, it is possible to cruise on the river Havel by steam! The authentic screw steamer "Gustav" from 1908 is the nautic signature attraction of the local fleet and takes people on excellent, sightseeing tours by water. Built in the early 20th century by the Wiemann shipyard in Brandenburg, the vessel was used for most of its life as a tug. It has made a great transition to tourist usage and now delights people of all ages. The steamer remains coal fired and was comprehensively refurbished around 2000. It's majestic funnel is a great addition to the Potsdam cityscape. The steamer is a bit over 31 meters long and just over 6 meters wide.
